November 12, 2024 at 9:24 amMe and my wife liked this movie a lot. We both were surprised as to why this movie was given a low rating. But its actually an entertaining one. The acting was good.
It does a great job showing a dark, lonely world through beautiful, well-shot scenes. The movie uses the mountain landscape to create a strong feeling of isolation and danger. Each shot adds to the mood, helping the audience feel the harshness of this post-apocalyptic setting.
One of the film’s strengths is its cast, especially Anthony Mackie, who gives a amazing performance as a determined father facing immense challenges. Morena Baccarin stands out as a prickly scientist, adding a compelling edge to the group’s dynamics. The characters’ interactons bring some emotinal depth to the plot and the actors make these relationships feel authentic and engaging.
The monsters are there to add some thrills, but they might feel a bit familiar if you’ve seen other sci-fi creature films. I think if you like end of the world type of movies and will let your imagination run a litte, you will really enjoy this movie.

November 12, 2024 at 7:12 pmElevation has some solid moments, especially in terms of world-building and creature design, but the story feels too predictable. Anthony Mackie is good, but I think he could have done more with his role if the script allowed it. Morena Baccarin had some great emotional scenes, but again, her character could’ve been explored more. The movie does have some suspenseful moments, but the ending felt rushed, and I didn’t feel as invested in the characters as I wanted to. If you’re a fan of monster movies or post-apocalyptic flicks, give it a go, but it’s not the best in the genre.
